Strawberry Picking

I took Hunter strawberry picking for the first time yesterday. I can't say that he loved the experience. He didn't want to touch most of the berries, picking only a handful the whole time we were there, and he definitely didn't want to eat any of them ("Look....dirty!"). Mommy picked 5lbs. though, so we'll be having some yummy strawberry treats soon! Maybe he'll like that a little better!

Mother's Day

I spent this Mother's Day childless!! Frank kept the boys at home and I went to the gym ALONE, the botanical gardens ALONE, and a couple of stores ALONE!! What a great gift!! I never would have thought that since becoming a mom 6 1/2 years ago the greatest gift someone could give me would be time by MYSELF!!

Big Wheels

Hunter took his new Big Wheel out on the road for the first time today (it was a Christmas present from Grammy). He had a lot of fun even though he can't really reach the pedals that well. Mommy took him to the hill in from of our house and let him roll down real fast. That was a blast until he had a little "mishap", although it was nothing a few Mommy-kisses couldn't fix. He got right back on and rode a little more before we decided to put the bike away for the night. It was a great first time!

After he pedaled by himself for a few seconds he gave a victory "Yes! I did it!"

Somewhere over the rainbow....

After a short bout of rain, the sun came out yesterday and revealed the most AMAZING rainbow I have ever seen!! It was so bright and it was complete, not just part of it showing. There was even a double rainbow for a few minutes. I wanted to get some better shots of it over our house, but I couldn't get far enough away to get more of it in the shot. I was so glad to experience it though, and the boys thought it was pretty cool too!

Go Seals!

The Spring season of soccer has started! Alex is on Team Seals! He had a great first game - no goals this time, but he played great and was a good sport! He LOVES soccer!

Easter

The Easter Bunny brought Alex and Hunter lots of fun treats this year! There were eggs hidden all over the downstairs filled with candy, and each boy had to find his own basket (which was also filled with candy and other goodies). Later in the day we had a yummy Easter dinner.

Spring is in the air!

We went to Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens last week with my good friend and her kids. The flowers were absolutely gorgeous! The kids had a blast as always. Everytime we go there I wonder why we don't go more often....it isn't that far away and it is always a good time!

Airport Tour

We took a tour of a nearby airport last week (Spring Break was busy for us!). Alex had a ton of fun and especially loved being able to sit in a few planes. Hunter wasn't too thrilled with being in the planes, but he did like seeing them. We even got a chance to see a few planes take off and land. So much fun!

Easter Egg Hunt

The MOMS Club that we belong to had an Easter Egg Hunt last week. Hunter LOVED finding the eggs filled with candy! Alex found his 10 eggs within seconds, Hunter took much longer but Alex was a big help to his little brother.

Hunter is 3!

Hunter turned 3 on Sunday! He's getting to be such a big boy! We celebrated at a local park with 6 of his friends and a Pirate themed party. It was a blast! All the kids had little pirate hats, eye patches, and a sword. They ate lots of pizza and loot-filled treasure chest cake. Although, I think Hunter's favorite part was coming home and opening his presents.
