Hunter Lost His First Tooth!

Has this really happened?? My baby lost his first tooth!!! We were sitting at the dinner table, and he was complaining that eating was hurting his tooth. I told him that was good because maybe his tooth would fall out while he was eating. A few minutes later, after a bite of hotdog, he tells me there is something hard in his food. I tell him, because dinner is always a challenge, to please stop complaining about the food and just eat. Then a light-bulb goes off in my head and I ask to look in his mouth. Sure enough, the tooth was gone!! He was very disappointed that he had eaten his tooth, but we assured him that the tooth fairy would still come even if the tooth was in his belly.
He was so proud of his missing tooth!!
You're really becoming a big-boy now, Hunter!!!

In need of the tooth fairy!

So, Alex has started down the road towards braces! Two days before Halloween (I know, I know...mother of the year!) Alex had 3 teeth pulled!! He was such a trooper! Although he was VERY nervous, he sat still and let the dentist do his thing (he didn't even need any funny gas!). It was hard for me to watch, so I know it was painful and hard to go through, but in the end he had three teeth - with most of the roots attached - to present to the tooth fairy. At the last minute he decided to keep one, but the tooth fairy was nice enough to still give him money for it! As it turns out, the tooth fairy pays more for teeth that the dentist pulls - Alex was thrilled!
Bonus: Alex can make the perfect beaver face now!

Poor buddy!

Look at those monsters!

Two Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed...

So, boys being boys, my two monkeys were playing too rough on our bed last night (despite being told multiple times to stop) when Hunter fell and hit his head on the night stand. He cried for a few minutes but seemed fine. Ten minutes later as I was getting him ready for bed I discovered a HUGE goose-egg on his forehead. I rushed him off to a local pediatric after-hours place and they looked at it, diagnosed it as a goose-egg and told me to just make sure I check on him every two hours through the night. Needless to say, it was a long night for mommy. I decided to just sleep in his room because despite the doctors trying to reassure me that he was probably fine, I was sick with worry and felt better about being close to him all night long. He didn't seem to care about being woken up so much (in fact mommy worried a little bit when he wouldn't really wake up even when I yelled his name and put wet wipes on his face and belly) and he is fine this morning. He wants to show everyone his "boo-boo". Luckily the swelling has gone down and now he just has a nasty bruise.
No more jumping on the bed!!!

Also wanted to add that obviously I took these pictures once we got home from the doctor....just in case you thought I was a crazy mom taking pictures of my kid's injuries before he saw a specialist!

Boo Boo

Look closely at this picture and you'll see that Patrick has a band-aid on his arm. Hunter woke up this morning declaring "OH NO! BOO BOO....Bandaid!" So of course we had to fix up Patrick's wound with a Scooby Doo bandage. Everything was right with the world as soon as the bandage was placed.
