Three Lakes Park

We went to a local park a few weeks ago that had a little aquarium and nature center. Alex, as always, is showing off his "personality". He's such a ham!

Slip Slidin' Away

Frank and the neighbors constructed a home-made slip'n slide a few weeks ago. Alex had a blast...Hunter preferred to just watch. We really have great neighbors! It was a fun day!

Busch Gardens

Mercer had their company picnic at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg this year. It was a blast! Alex loved the rides, and even went on his first "real" rollercoaster - The Big Bad Wolf. He decided he didn't like it....it went to fast according to him. He also went on his first water ride/rollercoaster...we got soaked, and although he was laughing at the bottom his comment when asked if he liked it was, "Yes, but I never want to go on that again!" He loved the Bumper Cars and giant swings with Daddy. Hunter liked watching everyone, but eventually got too tired of sitting and needed a nap, so we had to end our day a little early. It was still a lot of fun. We can't wait to go to other amusement parks with our kids in the future....but probably not again until Hunter is bigger.

Hunter's Birthday Party

We had Hunter's birthday party today. It was supposed to be at a local park, but the weather was yucky and cold so we moved it to none other than Chuck E. Cheese's (of course!). Alex loves it; Mommy and Daddy not so much, and Hunter really couldn't care less. The party started at 11am, right at the time Hunter should have been taking a nap, so needless to say he was a grump. Food definitely made him feel better though, so 2 whole pieces of pizza really cheered him up. Cake time was a mess though, literally. He was not happy at all when we lit the candle, Alex blew it out, and before we knew what was happening he grabbed a cupcake and just shoved it into his mouth, wrapper still attached. When we tried to get it away from him to take the foil off, he freaked out screaming. Eventually I got him a 2nd cupcake which he also devoured. He was a wreck!!! And none too happy about having to be cleaned off either!! It was fun though, and I think he had a good time....at least he loved the good eats!

Happy Birthday Hunter!

Hunter is 1!!! He wasn't too sure about the cupcake at first....he was really tired and cranky. Alex blew out the candle for him and he wouldn't even touch the cupcake at all, but after Mommy put a little frosting into his mouth, he decided to dive right in. He devoured the whole thing in about 5 minutes. It was so sweet!
